‘Crowded Mind’ reflects a moment of mental and emotional overload, when thoughts, fears, and desires all competed for attention. I had just moved out, learning how to hold a life of my own, balancing a part-time job and creating realism and portrait art, the style my community loved, while exploring abstract art which I felt deeply connected to.
This piece captures that inner conflict, with a multitude of shapes suggesting the scattered chaos in my mind, while some more orderly forms hint at the beginnings of clarity. The emergence of unexpected random little symbols expanded my sense of possibility, the abundance of more abstract art ideas and anchored my trust in instinct-led creation.
In this piece, I see my chaotic thoughts and ideas arranged in a way that feels alive. A reminder that if you overthink, you can channel it into something beautiful.
